San Diego is in full fall swing as we head into the weekend, bursting with energy, music, art and community spirit. From Halloween revelry in the Gaslamp to family-friendly fall festivals and culturally-rich gatherings, the city offers something for every mood and every crowd.

Downtown will be alive with the return of the San Diego Zombie Crawl transforming the Gaslamp Quarter into a haunting playground. Across five nights of spooky celebration (Oct 24, 25, 30, 31 & Nov 1) the weekend marks the height of the festivities. Those planning to attend should arrive early, bring ID, and embrace the full costume experience—it’s a sight to behold and a photographer’s dream.

If you prefer your thrills a little more structured, the Official Halloween Bar Crawl (San Diego) offers a guided nightlife adventure through downtown’s top venues. Check-in starts at Good Night John Boy, where one ticket grants access to multiple bars and an exclusive after-party. San Diego Club Crawl The crawl runs both Friday and Saturday nights, drawing San Diego’s party crowd into the streets for costumed celebration that goes well past midnight.

Families and early-birds won’t miss out either. Across the city, pumpkin patches, petting zoos, and fall festivals are in full swing: for example, Día de los Muertos – La Experiencia at the historic Old Town setting runs through the season and includes face-painting, art demonstrations and live entertainment. Fiesta de Reyes+1 Many of these events wrap before dusk, offering a seasonal slice of fun for all ages.

Art and culture lovers can look north to the Future Rituals & La Eco‑Resistencia exhibit at the Oceanside Museum of Art—an immersive installation by Francisco Eme blending traditional Mexican craft with digital audio and video. KPBS Public Media Within city limits, neighborhoods are coming alive with traditional celebrations of the [Día de los Muertos] (Day of the Dead) offering altars, music, dance and art that honour life and memory.
